You don’t need to know a lot about bikes in order to buy one. We’re here to help with all of your bike buying questions, and test rides at Ben’s Bikes are always free. Here is how you can get the bike that fits your needs and your pocketbook.
Visit the shop or check out our bikes online. If you have an idea of the type of riding you are interested in, we will start there. If you are unsure, we will talk you through some options, and maybe offer you a rental bike to try out, so you can see what fits your needs best.
We will determine your size. Don’t worry if the sizes seem confusing. We will figure it out. It is our job to know. We will adjust the saddle, handlebars, and pedals and cleats as needed. Finding the perfect size and style is essential to enjoy your bike rides.
We will listen to your price range, brand preferences, and what accessories will work for you. We will always recommend a free test ride on at least a couple of bikes around the complex or down to the Olympic Discovery Trail (a local bike trail). You can learn a lot about a bike in a very short time.
Once you have picked out the right bike, we will install any parts and accessories you want, make one more final check of the bike and adjustments, and you are on your way.
And remember, our team does much more than find you a bike – we offer technical support over the bike’s lifetime!
Sequim and the Olympic Peninsula have some of the best places to ride in the world. You and your bike are now a part of the growing community of cycling. Check out our maps of the area and our calendar of events to get information about upcoming rides and local cycling events.
After about 100 miles on your new bike, its break in period, bring it in for its free checkup. If you have any questions during your new bike’s break in period, please know that you are always welcome back in the shop so that we can answer your questions or make adjustments if needed.
Down the road, we hope to see you at least once a year for an annual checkup. Most bikes need a tune up every year. At home, make sure you keep your tires inflated with a good floor pump and clean and lube your chain with tri-flo often. Ask us for more tips on keeping your bike in great shape!
